CATHARTICS

Some stories aren’t meant to make you comfortable. They’re meant to wake you up, shake loose what you’ve buried, and leave you thinking about the things that never make the news but haunt the quiet corners of your mind.

about the Author

Nick Munoz

Nick Munoz doesn’t write to escape the world, he writes to face it head-on.

Born with a restless imagination and a love for the absurd details of real life, he turns moments of confusion, humor and heartbreak into stories that feel messy in the best possible way. His writing doesn’t follow formulas. It follows people. The kind that make mistakes, crack jokes at funerals, and still find the strength to keep going.

Cathartics is his most personal work to date. A strange and emotional blend of fiction, memory, and reflection. Through the voices of Draws, Gabe, and the rest of the crew, Nick explores how young people process trauma, loss, and the weird hope that lingers even after everything goes wrong.

When he’s not writing, you’ll probably find him sketching ideas in a coffee-stained notebook, listening to classic hip-hop, or revisiting the quiet places that inspired his stories.

about the Author

CATHARTICS

Part joke, part warning, and part philosophy. Cathartics starts in the aftermath of a tragedy. A mysterious event that mirrors another from decades earlier. The locals call it the Dark Road Curse, and no one really understands what’s happening. But six friends find themselves tangled in the middle of it. At its heart, it is about what happens when people who’ve been hurt keep moving anyway. Still joking, still fighting and still believing they can make something right, even by accident.
